Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened -- as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding -- she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another.

What an amazing talk. I've known in principal about the two halves of the brain in a vaguely academic way, but Jill Bolte Taylor puts it right bang into the cosmic dimension. Meditation will never be the same now!
I know Michael, its quite amazing how she describes this. What an extraordinary experience to go through and her having the knowledge and understanding to explain what was happening. There's some interesting talks on the TED Talks :-) It is a poignant reminder of living more in the peaceful and wider part of our consciousness, Take care, Juliette
